Tamil Nadu Telecommunications Ltd was incorporated in 1988 to manufacture optical-fibre cables. Its manufacturing facility at Maraimalai Nagar, Tamil Nadu, has remained shut since August 2017 and the company has reported nil operating revenue since then. Itis presently dependent on promoter TCIL for financial support while exploring strategic disinvestment, plant revival and alternative revenue opportunities.[1]
